You can offer Item Bundle and rental Duration discounts to encourage others to rent your items!
Default Discounts
By default, Celeb applies Bundle and Duration discounts to Items in your closet. Duration discounts apply if a user rents your item for more than a specified amount of time (e.g., 14 days). Bundle discounts apply if a user rents multiple items from you at once (e.g., 3+ items at a time).
Below are the default discounts we apply when you create an account:
Duration Discounts
14+ days: 10%
28+ days: 25%
Bundle Discounts
3+ items: 10%
5+ items: 15%
10+ items: 25%
How Discounts Work
Here are a few things to keep in mind about Discounts:
Bundle and Duration discounts stack on top of each other. For example, using the values above, if a user rents 3+ items from you for 14+ days, they will get a 20% discount, 10% from Bundling, and 10% from Duration.
Only the greatest discount from each category applies. For example, if a user rents an item for 28+ days, they only get the 28+ day discount, not the 14+ day discount.
Greater discounts must be equal to or better than the lower discount. For instance, a 14-day discount must be lower than a 28-day discount, a 3-item discount must be lower than a 5-item discount, and so on.
Changes to Orders may impact Discounts. When a user extends a rental, the additional days are charged at the same discounted rate. If a user shortens a rental and the shortened time is lower than a discount threshold, they may owe an additional amount for the existing days of the rental. We'll calculate the new discount, if any, as part of the change request. If there's a balance due for the shorter duration, the user will be charged the difference.
Editing Discounts as a Curator
To edit Discounts that apply to your Items, go to "Manage Closet" by clicking your Profile photo in the navigation header on our website, or by clicking the Settings button on the top right of your Profile page in our app. Once on the Manage Closet page, click "Closet Settings" to adjust your Discounts. When editing each Discount, you will see guidance on the minimum and maximum allowable discounts.
Curator Discount Tips
Bundle and Duration discounts are a great way to encourage "subscription-box" style rentals of your items, where users rent multiple items at once for long periods of time.
The time savings are substantial for you as a Curator, as you're not having to ship/receive/clean items as frequently, and you have guaranteed income from a piece for a longer period of time.
Although not as exciting to list, think about uploading staple items that are good for repeated wear, such as sweaters, jeans, skirts, blazers, and the like.
